Emerging economic regional powers and local systems of production:
new threats or new opportunities?

The starting point of this research project is the modifications brought about by EPs in the structure of the international exchange, real and monetary, with advanced countries. In particular, they are rapidly becoming leader in the export of goods with both, low value-added and high value-added. The latter is the most interesting new feature worth exploring. This is also favoured by the diffusion of ICTs and by the decreasing transportation and logistics costs.
